Trending at the Met Ball: A night of a thousand trains

Last night’s annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit (most popularly known as the fashion world’s equivalent of Oscar night) was a good one for red carpet slideshows, giving us drama, glamour and trimmings galore. Who doesn’t love a floor-sweeping, beaded, transparent, tulle extravaganza that hugs the curves and then falls into a puddle of dip dyed feathers at the feet as Beyoncé’s Givenchy gown did? The train was clearly the order of the night, coming in liquid-like beading on Karolina Kurkova and canary yellow simplicity on Solange Knowles.
