Roman Polanski for Prada

If it’s wit and humor you’re after in fashion, one looks to Prada. Now, the house and the Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski have surprised the Cannes International Film Festival goers with a beautifully crafted film short, titled “A Therapy”. Polanski said of the film, “A game, a thought, that through friendship and mutual respect has become true. It’s very refreshing to know that there are still places open to irony and wit and, for sure, Prada is one of them." Of course, it's not the first time that Miuccia Prada has dabbled in the film world, she previously cast Tim Roth, Gary Oldman and Adrien Brody, among others in her men's autumn / winter'12 collection.
The three minutes and thirty-one second movie stars British talent Ben Kingsley as a shrink for the ennui-suffering, troubled rich girl, played by Helena Bonham Carter. Whilst she laments about a dream and the plight of wealth, the shrink becomes fascinated by his client’s fur coat hanging by the entrance. Enraptured, presumably by its luxurious beauty, he rises to stroke the coat, a touch turns to a pose, followed by a dramatic, thespian-esque half-turn towards the mirror. His therapy, perhaps? It is at this point that “Prada suits everyone” flashes across the screen and then to black. Click here to watch the short.
